Feelin' SoFabulous for SoFabCon

While working on being SoFabulous for SoFabCon. So here’s the scoop. Changing your lifestyle is hard! Wait, you already knew that? Kudos. Will you teach me? Not much has changed in the last month. It’s just hard, ya know? I know you know. We all know. It seems easier for some than for others,

I found something online a while back and I changed it up a little, but it helps me to remember what my goal is and that there’s no use in complaining and making excuses. Kind of like I did in the first paragraph! It might seem a little harsh to some, but it works for me. I like it straight up. No sugar coating. Oh course, if I had a little less sugar coating I wouldn’t be in the mess I’m in today. HA!

You Move It

 

That right there? That works for me. My main problem is that I’m not moving like I should be. You all probably think I’m too hard on myself, but in reality I’ve let myself off the hook for so long. It’s not about self-loathing or bashing myself. It’s about finally coming to grips with the fact that I have to change myself. No fairy godmother is going to poof me into being my ideal weight.

So that’s the first part of it. The water intake? It’s getting better. When I use the water bottles I bought I drink a lot more. It’s amazing how such a small change can make such a huge impact. What about the stress thing I was going to work on? Still working on it. Actually the past week or so I’ve been battling stress acne. My teenage self would have been grateful for the acne she had if she could see my face today! hee hee! I’m planning a short trip to the spa soon. They have this face light that you sit under for 10 minutes and then all your acne clears up in two days. It’s magical. I need one in my home. Like yesterday.

Oh, and did I mention I’m moving this weekend? Only about 20 minutes away, but there’s still the packing that has to happen! I can’t wait to be in a bigger place with a backyard full of grass.

Well, I didn’t reach my one-month goal of getting under 200 lbs, but I’m still working on it!

    Moving is so stressful and always takes at least twice as long as you think it will. Good for you for sticking to your goals and not giving up – I like the truth straight too :) YOU CAN DO IT!!

    I know what you mean! I always have an excuse. Like….I can exercise tomorrow. I walked around a bit so I can have that cookie. I’ll start my diet tomorrow because I still have time…..     I have a similar mantra that I say to myself too! It’s really not so bad once I get going, it’s just getting on the treadmill in the first place that’s hard!

    Keep working on it…you can do it! You just have to believe in yourself. My husband recently lost over 40lbs and counting and he did it by drastically changing his diet. It isn’t for everyone, but if you have the will-power it can work!

I on the other hand, will eat one “cheat” meal a week, and I gain the 2 pounds I worked so hard to lose!! I love good food, which makes it so much harder to lose weight.     So excited for your move!!! A YARD! Woo-Hoo! I will never forget moving from our last duplex that had no yard and horrible safety issues to this house with a big fenced in yard. My then 4 year old asked how far he could explore. When I told him all the way to the back fence – he thought he had gone to heaven!

    As for weightloss? Just keep moving and drinking water and you’ll see health benefits even if the scales don’t move! you can do it! Great motivational quote!

    Gah… I dread moving. I’ve only moved once in my adult life so far and we’re probably going to move in the next two years. Yay for more water intake! I find that if I actually fill up two large water bottles in the morning, they’re empty by the afternoon.

    I would not be too hard on yourself for not meeting your goal of under 200 lbs, you are moving and obviously burning calories with all the packing, you will get there. You will also have a yard to get out and into to play with the kids so that will help too.

    Good luck with your move, I can give you a list of things not to do – do not get a $300 speeding ticket right before you move, you need the money for other things, do not need an emergency root canal right after you move, you need the money for other things and the pain just sucks. Do not do laundry at your new house without cleaning the dryer first, the hose and ventilation system might be full from never being cleaned and will catch fire and you will then lose the clothes inside and possible more if it was unattended. Yes these all happened to me with my recent move and they are still happening!

    I like your image.. True story! When I quit smoking, I did it cold turkey and used the ‘beat my self up verbally’ method and was successful. It’s been a year since I’ve had a smoke, I say you’re on the right track! :) Good luck with your move!
