I started this post wildly different that how it’s going to turn out. I was writing and stopped to edit my before photos. Let me tell you, it was an eye opener. I am fully aware of my size and the potential health risks associated with being obese. I have been horribly overweight for almost 7 years. I know to the month how long it’s been because After I got married I gained 50 lbs within 2 months.

Yes, you read that right. I gained 50 lbs in 2 months. After never being overweight in my life to gaining so much in so short of time was frustrating and overwhelming. I am currently 30 lbs heavier right now than I was after gaining those 50 lbs. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life besides being full term in a pregnancy. I am right about at 214 lbs give or take a lb depending on the day.
So what about those pictures? I’ll show them to you. I really don’t want to, but I will, because I know I’m definitely not the only one struggling. No one wishes it upon anyone else, but it sure helps to be able to relate with someone else. Having companionship in adversity sure makes it a lot more bearable. Here are my thighs from the front and the back.
Until I looked at this picture I had never realized that my legs were bowing inward. Not only that, but they are bowing in A LOT. I’m standing with my feet not quite shoulder width apart. I can’t believe how much carrying around extra weight for 7 years has damaged my legs. It’s shocking and rather upsetting.
I’ve finally come to a point in my life where I can accept myself and realize that I can be beautiful no matter what my weight is. This however, this is not healthy. I know that being overweight causes extreme pressure on your knees, but to actually see the body changes is amazing. I am no longer only in this to lose inches and pounds. I now have to think about losing weight to be healthy. Oh, and I’m sorry, but knees really shouldn’t have extra skin. That’s kind of rude! Hehe!
So about that blogger challenge… I’m wearing these awesome 28 Day Challenge Slim Leggings to help with the inches and to see how much slimming they can do. Read my post about it HERE. It’s 28 days and my plan is to end it with significant improvement. At the very least the challenge allowed me to see what it truly going on. Check out Proskins here.
So here is to healthy legs and smooth knees.
